Unfinished Business is a 15-minute multi-media duet exploring the concept of reincarnation, in particular the way in which difficult relationships or emotional patterns can repeat throughout many lives.  We treat this idea in three ways through the use of (1) time-delay video capture technology that allows us to grapple with our “past selves” (2) theme and variation in kathak rhythmic tradition as a musical metaphor for returning to the same issue in different ways and (3) the choreographic process, which requires continually working through, reflecting upon, and revising material, as a metaphor for reincarnation.
