Sheetal Gandhi’s solo show, Bahu-Beti-Biwi (Daughter-in-law, Daughter, Wife) wraps North Indian music traditions and family characters into a contemporary tour de force that glides between humorous portraiture and active resistance.
Three dancers: Red, White, and Blue, embody and animate the American Flag, revealing the Flag’s own identity crisis in a time when the ideals of what and “who” the flag represents are in sharp contrast with current reality.
Indian Mythology and Me artfully weaves foot rhythms, hand gestures and facial expressions into an interactive exploration of Indian mythology and its connections to our world today. Originally performed at the Ford Amphitheater.
